Stampin' Up Sketched Birthday Cake

Hello There!

There’s always room to make more birthday cards and eat a cupcake or two! Today’s card feature a 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up stamp set – Sketched Birthday (130426). When I saw this on the new catalog, it was a must get for me—with a few others that obviously I HAD to get. Trust me, you can never have too many different Birthday stamp sets. They are one of the most handy stamps that you’ll end up using. And also there is always a good reason to create a birthday card for someone’s special birthday. And it is always yummy to create a yummy cupcake/cake oh-so-delicious card.

For this card, I wanted to continue to create this bright-fun-happy birthday card and I know just the person to create that for! This friend loves SWEETS, so I used the retired Stampin’ Up Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper but the new Stampin' Up Birthday Basic is just as pretty and nice (as all Stampin' Up Designer Series Papers are) to give these fun and yummy feel and topped it with a lot of layers (just like how much I love the layers on top of layers and on top of layers of cake) and some embellishments (just like how I love the cute decorations on yummy cakes). One of his favorite cake is German Chocolate, so I had to color the cake CHOCOOoOOOoo-LATE (oh I am so drooling!!! Because I myself LOVE chocolate cakes/cupcakes). And by using Designer Series Papers, you can easily pull the same coordinating colors that Stampin’ Up carries. One of the many good things about Stampin’ Up products is that you can EASILY tie in the colors and it blends well.

Here's a little close up.

Whenever I try to make a card, I find it easier to give it a reason or keep someone in mind when creating because you think of what would that person like or what is that peson's favorite color or that person's personality. Having that in mind, this card was super easy to make and I so enjoyed very much making it as well. And I hope my friend will enjoy receiving it too.

Thank you for dropping by! Hope you enjoyed today's posting as much as I enjoyed making it. =)

Love always, SMILE!

Stampin' Up Sweets for the Sweet Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone,

I always wanted to make this sweet fun lollipop and pinwheel birthday card using Stampin’ Up Sweets for the Sweet (122512). And when I think of lollipops and pinwheels, I always think of nice bold strong colors. And whenever you use bold colors, I like to keep the “tone” of the card balance. So instead of adding too much details to the card, I thought I’ll give it a little subtle look by embossing it with Stampin’ Up Polka Dot emboss folder and to give it a little more dimension and focal point, punched a circle a little off center from the paper and used a Stampin’Up cardstocks and designer series papers. Topped it with two little cute banners on top of the card to give that “celebration”. I also added some Stampin’ UpCrystal Effects to give the lollipop and pinwheels a glazed look. And a little banner that says “Happy Birthday.”

This was so much fun create. Stampin up always makes it so easy to get ready to create!!!

Thank you for dropping by!
Love always, SMILE!

Stampin’ Up Many Thank You Cards

Hi Everyone,

I thought today I’ll share some Thank You idea cards with you today. These are some of the cards I started creating in the past, but never had a chance to sit down and finish them. So this weekend, I finished a few cards from the past and thought I’ll post them up. And a few more, but I’ll share them once I have the time to take the photos and post them up.

For the first two Thank You cards, I created them using the same concept and layout. I created using different Stampin’ Up Designer Series Papers and then coordinate them with Stampin’ Up Card Stock. Then changed up the color and the images, and you got yourself two different looking cards!!! =) It never hurts to use the same layout over and over again. Well, it never hurts to recreate any cards over and over again.

For this one, like I just said, it never hurts to use the same layout over and over again. Change up the images and add some little more details here and there, then you got yourself a totally different looking card! And that is what I did with this card…and with little blings. ;)

And continuing the thanks…you can never say “Thank You So Much” to anyone!!!

I really like the “Thanks Big Time” stamp from Stampin’ Up, which is now a retired stamp set. Just love how simple it is, but means so much! So I thought of creating a two more cards that uses this stamp.

Hope you liked today’s postings. Thank you for dropping by!

Stampin’ Up Rev Up The Fun! Happy Birthday!

Hello There,

Sorry! Been a while I haven’t updated my site. I’ve actually been somewhat working on other things and somewhat not too. Had a lot going on. Fourth, one of my little sister’s bday (Lien), my birthday, and a close friend’s bday (Jennifer). So been a little crazy with birthdays and spending wonderful times with family and wonderful friends.

So why not show you guys a fun birthday card. I’ve been trying to continue to make more masculine cards, because I find it hard not to reach for a flower punch or add some blings or some hearts. So I kept it in a brown tone which usually a masculine color. And what is a birthday card without some nice fun colors? And what is a birthday without some balloons? I usually would toss in a cute cupcake, but my goal is to not make it “cutie girly looking” so instead, I used the motorcycle from the Stampin’ Up Rev Up The Fun! (130523) stamp set and loved the little sentiment “Rev Up The Fun! Happy Birthday!” to tie everything in. I also used Stampin’ Up Deco Labels Collection Framelits (130102). And to give the background a little textured, I used Stampin’ Up Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127749) and distressed the side of the card to give it that distressed look that also gave the card an nice rough look.

It was a lot of fun creating this card and I didn’t even add any blings, hearts, or cupcake (pretty proud of myself J). I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoy making it.

Thank you for dropping by!
Love always, SMILE!
